General Hospital Spoilers: Outback saves Brennan; it turns out Brennan is actually still alive!
Port Charles has survived mob wars, explosions, kidnappings and more fake deaths than anyone could reasonably count. But this time, one of General Hospital’s biggest mysteries may be cracked not by Jason Morgan, Anna Devane or the WSB.
It may be solved by Outback.
The beloved dog has already found the place where Drew Cain and Ava Jerome desperately buried Jack Brennan, and if Outback keeps digging, the secret that Drew believes is safely underground could come roaring back to destroy him.
But could the discovery produce an even bigger shock?
For now, the evidence says Brennan is dead. Yet in Port Charles, viewers know better than to assume that buried always means gone forever.

Drew and Ava Buried Brennan — But They Made a Critical Mistake
The nightmare began after Brennan was found apparently dead in the Metro Court pool.
Drew and Ava had every reason to panic. Instead of contacting authorities, they moved Brennan’s body and desperately tried to erase their connection to what happened.
Their solution was chillingly simple.
Bury him where nobody would look.
The pair took Brennan to a nature preserve adjacent to the Quartermaine estate, dug an unmarked grave and covered the site with dirt and brush.
Soap Opera Digest confirms that Ava even paused to say a few words before Brennan was buried. Drew was convinced the location was ideal because the protected land would remain largely undisturbed.
He overlooked one thing.
Outback.
Outback Knows Exactly Where Brennan Is
Almost immediately after Drew and Ava disappeared from the area, Outback raced toward Brennan’s burial site.
Charlotte followed the dog and discovered Outback digging furiously at the freshly disturbed earth. She managed to pull the animal away before anything was uncovered.
But Outback didn’t forget.
By Friday, September 4, the dog had returned to Brennan’s grave and started digging again while Scout and Rocco were spending time together at the Quartermaine boathouse.
That changes everything.
Drew and Ava may be able to fool the PCPD and WSB, but they cannot explain to a dog that the patch of freshly disturbed soil must remain untouched.
And Outback appears determined to expose what’s underneath it.
Cody Could Follow Outback Straight to the Truth
There is another crucial piece of this puzzle: Cody Bell.
Celeb Dirty Laundry points toward Cody potentially becoming involved once he returns from his trip with Molly. Since Cody normally looks after Outback, the dog could bolt toward the preserve again — only this time, Cody might follow.
Unlike Charlotte, Cody isn’t a frightened teenager desperate to avoid trouble.
He’s an outdoorsman.
Freshly disturbed earth in the middle of a protected preserve would immediately look suspicious.
CDL suggests Cody could investigate himself or contact the police, ultimately leading authorities to Brennan’s body. Importantly, however, the outlet presents this as a possible upcoming development rather than a confirmed scene.
Either way, Drew’s supposedly perfect burial site suddenly looks like the worst decision he could have made.
Is Brennan Secretly Alive?
This is where speculation among GH viewers becomes irresistible.
Could Brennan somehow have survived?
At present, there is no confirmed spoiler establishing that Jack Brennan wakes up underground or that Outback rescues him alive.
In fact, recent episodes have deliberately treated Brennan as a corpse. Drew and Ava moved his body, buried him and subsequently began constructing their cover story. Soap Opera Digest explicitly describes what they buried as Jack’s body.
Soap Opera Spy likewise describes Brennan as dead and focuses on Outback potentially exposing Drew and Ava’s cover-up rather than rescuing him.
So an article claiming Brennan is definitely alive would currently go beyond what ABC has actually shown.
Still, the circumstances surrounding his death leave Port Charles with plenty of unanswered questions.
Brennan became drowsy after Ava put medication in his drink. He was later discovered in the Metro Court pool. Drew and Ava then removed the body instead of allowing police or medical authorities to conduct the normal investigation.
And that means the full story of what happened between Brennan entering that elevator and ending up in the pool remains extraordinarily important.
Drew’s Cover-Up Is Already Falling Apart
Even if Brennan truly is dead, Outback’s discovery could be catastrophic.
Josslyn has already reported Brennan missing to the WSB. Jason and Carly discovered evidence that Brennan’s hotel room had been searched and that the Metro Court security system had been deliberately compromised.
Meanwhile, Ava has created another bizarre piece of evidence.
After burying Brennan, she discovered a tick on herself. Isaiah noted that it could be an unusual species for the area and pressed Ava to remember where she had been.
Suddenly, the wilderness itself seems determined to testify against her.
A dog knows where Brennan is.
A tick could connect Ava to the burial area.
The WSB is looking for its missing chief.
And Drew is walking around Port Charles acting as though his biggest problem has disappeared.
It hasn’t.
Jack Brennan’s secret is sitting beneath a thin layer of dirt — and Outback may be only a few paw strokes away from bringing Drew and Ava’s nightmare back into the daylight.
Whether that grave ultimately contains a dead WSB chief or General Hospital somehow delivers another legendary resurrection remains to be seen.
But one thing is already confirmed:
Outback has found Brennan. And Drew and Ava’s secret is no longer safely buried.
