Port Charles may have buried Jack Brennan, but Brennan may have made sure the truth could not be buried with him. And if one final message reaches Josslyn, the fallout could destroy more than one powerful player.

Jack Brennan’s death has already turned General Hospital upside down. After Charlotte and Danny discovered a body in the Metro Court pool, the victim was confirmed to be Brennan. Meanwhile, Drew and Ava found themselves tangled in an increasingly dangerous cover-up, ultimately burying Jack’s body near the Quartermaine property.

But there is one problem Drew may not have considered.

Brennan was a spy.

And spies rarely leave their most dangerous secrets in one place.

Jack’s Final Insurance Policy?

Before his disappearance, Brennan had accumulated enough enemies to know that death was always a possibility. As WSB station chief, he understood surveillance, contingency plans and the value of information better than almost anyone in Port Charles.

That makes the possibility of a dead-man’s letter to Josslyn remarkably compelling.

Joss has already become suspicious. Rather than accepting Brennan’s disappearance at face value, she reported him missing and told the WSB that foul play could be involved. Agent William Baines subsequently arrived to investigate.

Imagine, then, Joss returning to Brennan’s office and discovering something deliberately hidden where only she would think to look.

Inside, Brennan’s final warning:

“If you’re reading this, they got to me.”

But the real bombshell would come next — the identity of the person Brennan believed was pulling the strings.

Is Drew Really The Mastermind?

Drew immediately belongs near the top of Josslyn’s suspect list.

His behavior following Brennan’s death has hardly been innocent. Drew and Ava buried Jack together, then attempted to protect themselves with an alibi. Even more disturbingly, Drew subsequently planted evidence in Nina’s car, while Joss unknowingly helped direct WSB attention toward Nina.

That creates the perfect soap-opera tragedy: Joss thinks she is pursuing Brennan’s killer while she may actually be helping the guilty party manipulate the investigation.

A letter could change everything.

Brennan may have realized before his death that the conspiracy surrounding him went deeper than Ava. Perhaps he had been quietly assembling evidence against Drew. Or perhaps the true mastermind is someone Brennan never dared publicly accuse.

Either possibility would leave Joss facing an agonizing question: Can she trust Brennan’s final words?

Joss Could Become Brennan’s Last Weapon

There is another emotional layer that makes this twist especially powerful.

Brennan was not merely Josslyn’s superior. He brought her into the dangerous WSB world, meaning his death leaves her without the man who understood exactly what kind of life she had entered.

Actor Chris McKenna’s departure is real, and Brennan’s death marks the end of his run on General Hospital. McKenna has acknowledged disappointment over the abrupt ending while also describing his time on the soap as a “gift.”

That makes a posthumous message especially believable as a dramatic device. Brennan can be gone while still driving the story.

And Joss may be the person he chose to finish what he started.

The situation even carries the kind of family-secret tension familiar to viewers of TLC’s Sister Wives: one revelation does not simply expose an individual; it forces everyone around them to reconsider old alliances, loyalties and stories they once accepted as truth. In Port Charles, however, those secrets come with considerably deadlier consequences.

If Brennan’s letter exists, Drew’s carefully constructed cover-up could collapse in seconds.

Joss would finally know that Brennan did not simply disappear.
