‘GH’ Spoilers Tuesday, September 8: Cody and Outback finally found Brennan’s body!

The secret Drew Cain and Ava Jerome fought so desperately to bury is about to become impossible to contain on General Hospital.

Jack Brennan’s death has already sent shockwaves through Port Charles, but the real danger may be hiding beneath the soil near the Quartermaine property. And the unlikely hero threatening to expose everything is none other than Outback.

The groundwork for this horrifying discovery has already been laid. Brennan is unquestionably dead: Chris McKenna has confirmed his exit from General Hospital, while the show revealed Brennan’s death after his body was discovered in the Metro Court pool.

Now, as the week of September 7 begins, Drew and Ava’s hastily constructed cover-up is in danger of collapsing.

Drew and Ava buried Brennan — but they made one fatal mistake

Brennan’s final hours became increasingly sinister after Ava drugged him as part of Drew’s scheme. Soon afterward, Danny and Charlotte stumbled across his corpse floating in the closed Metro Court pool. Drew and Ava subsequently found Brennan themselves and, terrified of what an investigation might expose, secretly removed his body.

Their solution was chillingly simple: make Brennan disappear.

On September 2, Drew and Ava transported his corpse to a nature preserve beside the Quartermaine estate. They dug an unmarked grave, lowered Brennan into it and covered their tracks as best they could.

But as they finished, they heard a dog barking nearby.

That dog was Outback.

Drew believed the protected nature preserve was an ideal hiding place because few people would have any reason to disturb the land. What he could never have anticipated was a curious beagle refusing to leave the site alone.

Outback has already led Charlotte directly to the freshly disturbed ground and started digging there. Charlotte pulled the dog away before anything could be uncovered, but the moment established exactly where this storyline is heading.

Cody returns — and Outback leads him toward the truth

Cody Bell has been away with Molly Lansing-Davis at her book convention, leaving Chase temporarily responsible for Outback. Once Cody returns, however, he could inherit a mystery far darker than anything he expects.

Celeb Dirty Laundry specifically previews the possibility that Outback will lead Cody back to Brennan’s grave. Cody, unlike Charlotte, is an experienced outdoorsman. Freshly disturbed soil in an isolated preserve could immediately strike him as suspicious.

Imagine the moment.

Outback bolts ahead. Cody follows, initially irritated that the dog refuses to listen. Then he notices the ground.

The soil has been turned over recently.

Outback begins digging.

And Cody realizes this isn’t normal.

Whether Cody digs far enough to expose Brennan himself or immediately calls the PCPD, the result threatens to be the same: Jack Brennan’s secret burial site is discovered.

Importantly, ABC’s published Tuesday, September 8 teasers do not yet explicitly confirm Cody finding the corpse in that episode. The official Tuesday preview instead highlights Britt’s life being in danger, Jason making a desperate plea, Trina becoming furious, Drew lashing out, and Portia and Isaiah being caught off guard.

The Brennan-grave discovery is therefore strongly set up by the aired story and current spoilers, but its exact September 8 timing should not be treated as officially confirmed yet.

Brennan’s corpse could destroy Drew and Ava

Finding Brennan is only the beginning.

Once investigators establish that the WSB chief did not simply vanish, the question becomes who moved his body from the Metro Court.

That trail could become disastrous for Ava.

Dante saw Ava with Brennan shortly before his death, making her potentially one of the last known people to interact with him. Current spoilers indicate that Brennan’s disappearance will indeed create serious problems and that Ava may have to work aggressively to cover her tracks.

Drew faces an equally terrifying problem.

Carly and Jason already know something suspicious happened at the Metro Court. The hotel’s security system was deliberately sabotaged, and when they entered Brennan’s room, they found clear evidence that someone had searched it.

Soap Opera Digest confirms that Drew had been hunting through Brennan’s belongings while Ava tried to get him out before they were caught.

Suddenly, several apparently unrelated clues could begin fitting together.

A hacked security system. Brennan’s searched room. A dead WSB chief. Ava’s last-known contact with him. And now a corpse buried suspiciously close to Quartermaine territory.

For Drew and Ava, the walls are closing in.

Port Charles is about to ask one terrifying question

The discovery would also create a much larger mystery because finding Brennan’s body does not automatically reveal who actually caused his death.

That distinction could become crucial.

Drew and Ava certainly committed an extraordinary cover-up by moving and burying Brennan, but the circumstances surrounding his death still leave Port Charles with unanswered questions. Meanwhile, Josslyn has already formally reported Brennan missing to the WSB after realizing he had skipped a scheduled debrief — something completely out of character for him.

Once Brennan is found, a missing-person case becomes something far more dangerous.

A death investigation.

And if Outback ultimately leads Cody to that grave, Drew and Ava may discover the hard way that their elaborate scheme was defeated by the one witness they never thought to fear:

a dog that simply refused to stop digging.
